Managing Individual Performance (MIP)
Why Performance Management?
Performance management is a process by which managers and employees work together to plan, monitor, and review employees’ work objectives and overall contribution to the organisation’s goals. The process starts with routine one-on-one sessions between managers and employees with a fixed agenda. During the session, the employee is expected to report on the progress of tasks and KPIs for the period under review.
Plans to remedy KPIs that are not meeting target are jointly agreed and must be reviewed during the upcoming one-on-one session(s). The Sekika MIP process is designed to empower the employee and to provide a structure for conducting the one-on-one sessions.
MIP Training modules are designed to guide the manager to:
- Conduct a structured one-on-one session with the employee
- Improve performance to meet agreed targets
- Deal with work habits that do not fit the organisation’s culture and vision
- Prepare for disciplinary action that is performance related
First Line Manager Development
The Team Leader’s journey starts by understanding and applying the impact of ‘locus of control’ and personal motivating factors as part of the lifelong learning process.
Furthermore, central to the Team Leader capabilities is balancing the dual role of being a leader AND a manager through Leading, Planning, Organising and Controlling the activities of the team within and outside the meeting environment. Key skills are also required by the modern Team Leader to select and mentor future leaders within the shop floor teams.
Bespoke modules will be formulated for the first line manager that is either newly appointed or requires additional facilitated training and workplace coaching on recognised Lean Leader characteristics.
