Load Curtailment Programme
During 2014 and 2015, South Africa experienced rolling load shedding, which limited electricity supply to households and businesses. Together with the City of Cape Town, Sekika Solutions implemented a load curtailment programme for businesses on four substations. Instead of being switched off, these 350+ businesses were requested to reduce their load during the peak shedding period. As a result, businesses were able to continue operations, avoiding costly start-ups and shutdowns.
Sekika devised the implementation model, engaged businesses on how to reduce load, and managed the relationship between the City and the businesses.

Banbury Chemicals is a supplier of chemicals and dosing equipment to the polymer and plastics industry.
