Western Cape Township Surveys
Sekika Solutions was approached by the Western Cape Government to collect and analyse relevant data that would inform their liquor licensing strategy in Sector 4 Khayelitsha. The work was structured into two phases:
Phase 1 – Geotagged points of interest
Phase 2 – Conduct a comprehensive household and business survey
The data collected was correlated against liquor legislation and municipal bylaws to identify possible licensing sites. Insights regarding unemployment rates, business trends and opportunities, safety concerns and favoured recreational activities were developed to assist Government.
Our Clients’ Insights
Rtf was a ground-breaking initiative developed and implemented in the Townships of Cape Town to address the lack of legal compliance within Taverns. Rtf assisted with the education of retailers, physical implementation of legal requirements and monitoring of both consumer and retailer behaviour in this space.
This initiative has highlighted the need for better education of our retailers and increased investment to create safer spaces for our consumers
